The 40th edition of El Sol, the Ibero-American Festival of Advertising Communication, concluded in Málaga with a historic showcase of regional talent. This year’s results shake up the race for the National Market Leaders titles, as all winning entries directly inject vital points into the TopFICE Global Index.
TBWA Colombia emerged as the undisputed “Agency of the Festival,” securing 14 awards (including 9 Golds and 2 Grands Prix for their breakthrough campaigns “Fictional Insurance” and “The Golden Zone”). This achievement positions them as an early frontrunner for the upcoming full-service rankings. Meanwhile, PS21 (Spain) consolidated its position in the independent sector, taking home the “Independent Agency of the Festival” honor.
In the production category, Mexico’s Oriental Films claimed the top spot with 8 awards and a Grand Prix for “Shooting”, proving that multi-market players are ready to dominate the specialized rankings this season. The festival’s highest accolade, the Sol de Platino, was awarded to LOLA MullenLowe Madrid for their exceptional work “Tiny Coffee Shops” for De’Longhi.
With Spain leading the country leaderboard (98 awards), followed closely by Colombia and Mexico, TopFICE has officially processed these results into our year-round data tracker.
